The works in Solid Surfaces arise as an expression of balance between creativity, technology, and craftsmanship, designed by Architect Angelo Minio, on commission from Architect Daniela Schembari, and crafted by the artisans of Tecno Metal.
Each element was conceived to interpret the theme of the sea through shaped matter, integrated light, and refined chromatic research – transforming solid surfaces into fluid and poetic forms.
The suspended plaques, made of thermoformed solid surfaces, take on different identities while maintaining a coherent visual language.
The oval plaques, softly backlit and characterized by blue and white hues, evoke the transparency of the sea and the foam of the waves, offering a feeling of lightness and motion.
Light, diffused with delicacy, enhances the material texture and lends each surface a vibrant aura, as if it were animated by the breath of water.
Other plaques incorporate metal inserts finished with the same artistic oxidation techniques in copper and Corten tones, creating a visual dialogue between different materials and ensuring conceptual continuity throughout the project.
The final piece, a black thermoformed plaque set into the rock wall of the boutique, takes the shape of a stylized anchor — a symbol of the bond between sea and land, stability and depth, memory and contemporaneity.
Thermoforming thus becomes the tool to overcome the limits of matter, shaping it into soft curves, luminous surfaces, and light geometries.
The result is a collection of works that unite design, sculpture, and light, where every detail is crafted to evoke emotion, balance, and a deep sense of belonging to the place.
Each plaque is a small suspended architecture, where matter becomes narrative and light becomes memory — a tribute to the sea, its strength, and its infinite power to inspire form and the art of creation.
